Accepting and loving yourself are key tools in having self-confidence. When a woman is comfortable in her own skin, it is very appealing. Having worked in the modeling industry I can tell you that the girls who love and accept who they are and have healthy habits are much more beautiful than those who do not. Staying true and authentic to your morals and beliefs can be very difficult in today’s culture. With the rise of social media, someone is easily able to portray an “image” made of constructions, such as makeup and photoshop, to illustrate someone they are not. It is so important not to lose yourself under the pressure of someone else’s version of beauty. This can take some time to learn! To be genuinely authentic and real is to be grateful and be happy with wherever you are at, right now. Learn what you are good at and what you are not and welcome both. Take the time to smile and enjoy the little things. People who do, give off confidence and are generally fun to be around. Being the best version of yourself will allow you to create your own confidence, unique to you. Take it, and show it to the world.

I truly believe that learning to love, honor, and respect yourself is key elements in authentic beauty and happiness. It is about appreciating and accepting whom you are and what you have to offer the world. This is something that I have struggled with, for many years. I always felt it meant one needed to be completely comfortable in their own skin, in order to truly love themselves. That is far from the truth. To love oneself is to have self-respect, positivity, and unconditional self-acceptance.
Loving yourself does not mean being arrogant, conceited, or thinking that you are above anyone else. We all have our own journeys, unique to us. Life is often a voyage of self-discovery, and no one journey is like another. Sadly, many of us will never fully love ourselves until we look a certain way physically, have that job, the boyfriend, etc. We tend to put circumstances before self-love and appreciation. Love is something we can choose on a daily basis, just as we choose anger, joy, or forgiveness toward someone that has hurt us. Today is the day you can start loving yourself unconditionally, with no expectations.

Taking care of your own wellbeing will not only help you feel better but will also allow you to give more to those around you. Self- care can be anything that nurtures you on a deep level. Giving to yourself through self- care does not necessarily require high amounts of effort or money. Giving to yourself can be as simple as taking 15 minutes a day for yourself, getting a massage, enjoying a healthy meal, or reading something that inspires you. Self-care can be different for every- one, and only you know what will satisfy your needs. When we do not practice self-care, we can often feel stressed, tired, and emotionally exhausted. It can be easy to forget our own needs, especially when we often find ourselves supplying the needs of others. Whether you are a busy mum, a college or high school student, or business owner, taking time for yourself has such value. It allows you to give more to yourself and to others. When you feel great, you are able to move through your day with joy, ease, create supportive relationships, and a career you love.

You are a unique, beautiful soul. Many times we’re so unsure of our own beauty and the decisions we make. It can be difficult not to compare ourselves to others. When we do, we only deny ourselves happiness. When we second guess our decisions and compare ourselves to others around us, we start to lose trust in who we are. Choose to see yourself in a positive way, instead of comparing and being envious of others. Comparing yourself to those around you is one way to handle jealousy, but in the end, it will not change anything. You were created the way you are, and no one person can offer the world what you have. Choose to release old judgments of yourself, as well as bitterness and envy towards others, and grow in who YOU are.
Have you ever been around a person who always seems unhappy, and complains about everything around them? You often feel drained after being with them, and eventually, they unknowingly project these feelings of negativity and unhappiness onto you? These types of people can be very toxic to be around. They may say things like: “I hate my job”, “I want to move”, “I’m so unhappy with my body..” etc. Instead of allowing their negative mindset and energy to project onto you, think to yourself: “How can I turn these thoughts or feelings around in a positive way?” Replacing bitter words with positive affirmations can help change your mindset and give you a new perspective. Some positive affirmations I like to say to myself are:

❥ I choose happiness
❥ I accept where I am, and enjoy life today
❥ I am happy with my body
❥ I choose to fill my body with nutrients
❥ My inner world creates my outer world
❥ I am strong and courageous
I truly believe that saying positive affirmations to yourself will help create organization and positivity in your mind, create loving relationships, and attract a new job and place to live. Get creative and make your own affirmations unique to your journey, and place them somewhere where you can see them every day and eventually your brain will start to believe what you are telling it.
