Push yourself to do things that intimidate or scare you
Success doesn’t usually come from within our comfort zones. Some of the most successful women I know have learned to do things on a whim – not letting fear control the decisions they make. So why should you?
Doing things outside of our comfort zones can be so rewarding and exciting. So push yourself. Push yourself to do the small things each day that you’d normally think twice about. Like taking a class you’ve always wanted to try, or even agreeing to meet up with someone new. Once you start saying YES to the small things that intimidate you, you can then eventually work up to saying YES to the bigger things as well! Below are three of my favorite ways to help push yourself further this spring!
When you practice openness, you free your mind from limiting thoughts. Nothing can hold you back more than thinking you know the answers so you never consider any other alternatives. When you admit that there are other solutions, you allow yourself to think beyond the thoughts and boundaries where you normally would’ve stopped yourself.
Changing your thoughts can soon change your behaviors and actions, as well. So often people try and modify their behaviors in an effort to change, only to be disappointed when it doesn’t work out. True change comes when you have openness, from the inside out.
Have clearly defined goals, and don’t deviate from them
‘The real value of setting goals is not the recognition or the reward, it is the person we become by finding the discipline, courage, and commitment to achieve them.’
When we don’t have a goal in mind we don’t have much of a focus or overall direction in life. Goal setting not only helps you take control of your life’s direction but also gives you something to look forward to. However, to accomplish your goals, you’ll need to learn how to set them properly. Goal setting isn’t something that simply happens overnight. It’s a process that takes careful time and consideration. Consider setting goals that not only motivate you, but are also attainable, relevant, and specific to your life.
