A Models Workout Guide: 5 Tips For Flat Abs

Achieving flat abs, or even just a flatter stomach, is something I believe almost every woman strives towards having at some point in her life. Bloating, digestive issues, and improper exercises can often get in the way of that, and leave many of us feeling less motivated and uncomfortable in our own bodies. Below are my top five tips when trying to get a flatter stomach, that goes way beyond just exercising!

Flat abs

Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is one of the easiest things you can do to improve your digestion, which can then result in a happier and less-bloated tummy 😉 I love starting my mornings with about one liter of water, before my first meal. Not only does doing this prepare your digestion, but it also helps give your metabolism a little boost as well!

One of the most important benefits of taking your time to eat slowly is that it gives your body time to recognize when you’re full. Sitting down at each meal and really taking the time to eat slowly truly helps us feel more satisfied-which is SO different than just being “full”. Eating too fast can often cause gas also, which will then lead to unwanted bloating. Try sitting down the next time you eat, instead of being distracted or eating on the go. Taking a few breaths in between bites, and really recognizing what you are eating can also be a big help when trying to eat slower!

Having a healthy gut is one of the most important factors in having a flat stomach. Over time when we eat unhealthily, our colons can build up toxins and are then not able to absorb the nutrients from our food properly. Some amazing ways to cleanse out the colon naturally are:

1.) Doing Colonics

2.) Drinking Green Juices or Lemon Water

3.) Herbal Laxative Teas (1-2 times a week)

4.) Filling Up On Natural Fibers

5.) Chia and Flax Seeds

6.) Aim To Have 1-3 Bowel Movements a day

Try experimenting with different ways to cleanse your colon, and find out which work best for your body and lifestyle! Personally, I’m not a huge fan of doing colonics so I much prefer drinking cold pressed green juices, herbal teas, and lots of fiber!

I’ve never been a huge fan of those long, intense workouts, but I love trying to be active throughout my day if I can! That can be anything from stretching on your own in the morning, taking a gentle pilates class, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going for a nice walk, etc… Integrating some type of physical activity on a daily basis will not only increase your metabolism but will keep things moving throughout your body as well 😉

Every body type reacts differently various types of food, but from what I’ve learned from studying nutrition is that processed and salty foods are often the reason we feel puffy and bloated! If you’re trying to get a flatter stomach but still love the taste of salt, try using Himilian Sea Salt (in moderation) and see how that makes you feel. Himilian Sea Salt is SO much healthier for you than the regular table salt, so it’s a good alternative 😉 As far as processed foods go, be gentle with yourself. Restricting yourself from something may work for a while, but you’ll only end up craving it even more long term. Personally, I like to be more ‘lax’ with what I eat on the weekends rather than during the week. This allows me to still enjoy those yummier comfort foods in moderation while maintaining a healthy lifestyle during the week!

I hope these tips and tricks have inspired you in some way! Let us know in the comments below what tips you have for achieving a flatter stomach, in a healthy way!

Thank you for sharing. I think lack of water and eating a lot of sugar packed foods has a big impact on bloating.
